Jewel E. Strause

Jewel E. Strause, 93, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was the wife of the late William L. Strause who died in 2003. They shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Maxwell Calvert and Ethel Clements Calvert.

Jewel was an area resident most of her life. She was employed, for 33 years, by Penguin Industries of Coatesville as a Fulfillment Specialist.

She was a member of the Calvary Fellowship Church of Downingtown, PA.

Mom Loved going to the beach and eating at many places throughout the years. She loved listening to music. Country, Hymns and especially the '50s She belonged to the Willie Nelson fan club for many years and got to meet him several times!

She is survived by three children; Carol Grace Strause Houck, Eve Strause Deck and Adam Strause and wife Karen, devoted daughter-in-law Nancy Strause, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son William R. Strause, granddaughter Jennifer Draucker-Ray and son in-law Clyde J Deck Jr.

Great granddaughter Milleah Ray is thanked by family for her 24/7 care allowing Jewel to be at home in her final days.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by interment at the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.
