Jesse James Wertz, 60, of Parkesburg, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Paoli Memorial Hospital. Born in Springdale, East Fallowfield Township, he was the son of the late Harold W. Wertz and Elizabeth Mae Hilton Wertz.

Jesse could be seen daily riding on his bicycle throughout the streets of Parkesburg. He was always willing to lend his assistance to friends and neighbors in the area with yard work and maintenance. He will be missed by his family and the residents of Parkesburg.

He is survived by four siblings; Howard Wertz, Jr. of Pomeroy, PA, William Wertz of Pomeroy, PA, Carol Wertz and Sharon D. Comeskey and husband James of Honey Brook, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Michael J. Wertz and Frederick A. Wertz and one sister Betty Mae Stone.

Graveside services will be held at a later date to be determined by the family. Memorial donations, in his memory, can be mailed directly to the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA 19365 to help with funeral expenses.
