Janice Hendricks

Janice L. Hendricks, 88, of Elverson, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. She was the widow of the late Charles W. Hendricks, Sr. who died in 2012. They shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late William H. Hatfield Sr. and Evelyn I. Hess Hatfield.

Growing up, Janice enjoyed bowling, playing in the marching band in school and then later on she enjoyed crocheting making blankets, slippers and shawls. She also loved her Gospel and Irish music. Janice was an area resident all her life and a 1955 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed for many years by Pepperidge Farms and Yoder's as a baker retiring 1999. 

Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a woman of her faith attending church formerly at Hephzibah Church and later,  Wyebrook Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons; Charles W. Hendricks, Jr. of Elverson and Cary W. Hendricks and wife Colleen of Morgantown, PA, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one sister Jean Stackhouse and husband Warren of Parkesburg, PA. She was preceded in death by four siblings; Evelyn Esworthy, R. William Hatfield, Sr., William H. Hatfield, Jr. and Janet Grier.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery in East Fallowfield, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
