Janet Marie (Denton) Levenite, 76, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in West Chester, PA due to a variety of health complications. She was the wife of Marshall Edwin "Ed" Levenite.
Born in Camden, NJ on May 20, 1949, Janet was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Agnes M. (Ochiuto) Denton. She attended and graduated from Christ the King School and Haddonfield High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Coatesville. Janet spent most of her working life employed at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in a variety of different positions. After leaving Wyeth, Janet became a transportation aide for On the Go Kids. She loved the children that she encountered in this job and was a favorite of both students and parents alike.
Janet died as she lived: as a battler. After being born with a heart defect and only one kidney, she persevered to construct a life centered on family, love, and a strong Catholic faith. Though barely 100 pounds, her infectious laugh belied her small size. Janet loved animals, including her dog Cinder, as well as cooking, rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, and books about the Amish community.
Besides her husband she is survived by her daughters, Christina (David) Kaszuba of Lewisburg, PA, and Cheryl (Robert) Walsh of Lanoka Harbor, NJ. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Megan, Michael, Mani, Max, Corey, Paige, Mei, Nicholas, and Hope, two great-grandchildren Madison and Brooke, and siblings Richard (Kathleen) Denton of Delran, NJ, Gerald (Katherine) Denton of Gloucester, City, NJ, Glenn (Terri) Denton of Vicksburg, MS, and Vivian (David) Grube of Haddonfield, NJ.
The family thanks U.S. Renal Care and Chester County Hospital for taking good care of Janet through her struggles.
Information on funeral arrangements will follow.
