James Clarence Wilson, born on March 26, 1938, in West Chester, Pennsylvania was a dedicated piano technician, avid book reader, historian, as well as a chorister who enjoyed Handel's Messiah and other parts-based music. He passed into his eternal home with his Lord and savior on April 20, 2026, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He is probably singing Hallelujahs in heaven right now!
James, known as Grandad, was full of life, and was always ready for an adventure with his grandchildren. He taught most of his grandchildren to swim, ran with them, hiked with them and loved to be like a little child. He was ready to give any grandchild whatever cookies or ice-cream that they wanted. Especially when it came to Pepperidge Farm Cookies. Throughout his life, he was cherished by those closest to him, who remember him as quirky and integrous, honest and striving to live in Gods' ways.
Taking great comfort in his heritage, James had many relatives who still live in West Chester, PA. His family descended from Rev William L. Cann and Anna Margaret Gallaher Cann from Marshallton, Pa. (these were his great -grandparents on his father's side.) His grandmother was Lulu Cann Wilson. James father (Clarence Wilson) worked for Esco Cabinet Company owned by Henry and Merrill Cann; brothers of his grandmother. He always talked about the generosity of these brothers and how they always wanted to help him succeed.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Jeanne Gluckert Wilson, his daughter, Judith Wilson Ponciano, and was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Wilson Sweezey (1968-1993). James was a proud grandfather to David, Ziva, Elora, Joel, Andrew, and Benjamin Ponciano, whose lives were enriched by his presence. He is also remembered by his sister, Mary Lu Wilson, and was preceded in death by siblings: "Peg" Wilson Swanenburg and Eric Wilson
