Born in Christiana, he was the son of the late Christopher E. and Edna Hess Bailey.

Jim was employed by McGuckin and Pyle in Downingtown as a Machinist and retired after 25 years of service.  He was a US Army veteran serving in WWII in Europe.

He is survived by two children: Charlotte Y. Boyer, wife of Dr. Jere Boyer of Canton, Ohio, David H. Bailey, husband of Sandra of Ephrata; five granddaughters, Angela Musser, wife of Patrick, Rhonda Bailey, Kristin Boyer, Aimee DiStefano, wife of James, and Susanna Bracken; one great granddaughter, Kelsie Averetta DiStefano; one sister, Shirley Byers of Dushore, PA.

He was predeceased by five siblings, William Bailey, Marie Radcliff, Geraldine Pavelik, Anna Kimes and Paul Bailey.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 at 2 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Glen Run Cemetery of Atglen.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 1 until 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ's Home for Children, 3182 Lincoln Hwy E., Paradise, PA 17562.
