Jack A. Strouth

Jack A. Strouth, 82, of Downingtown, formerly longtime resident of West Bradford Township, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Vivian Beale Strouth with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Pound, Virginia, he was the son of the late Otis Strouth and Olive Mullins Strouth.

Jack moved to Chester County at the age of 18. He was employed, for 36 years, by Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square as a boiler room mechanic.

Jack loved the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia that he referred to as “Down Home”. Along with his love of nature hunting, and the outdoors, he had a passion for music by playing with a band or on his own and of course, he absolutely loved jokes and pranks.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Arissa Gallagher and husband Jim of Downingtown, Jason Strouth of Alabama and Sam Strouth of West Chester, PA, four grandchildren; Ashley (Mike), Jack, Shawn, and Cole, three great grandchildren; Shane, Savannah, and Lillian, two brothers; Kenny Strouth of Coatesville, PA and Otis Strouth of St. Paul, VA and his faithful sidekick and partner in crime, his beloved dog Gracie. He was preceded in death by one son Marlin Strouth and two brothers; Ernie and Johnny Strouth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10:00 AM to the time of the service followed by burial at the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen, PA.
