Jack (John) W. Coldren, born January 18, 1941, passed away on November 12, 2015. A beloved member of the community, Jack will be remembered for his remarkable work ethic, his sense of humor, and his gift for entertaining those around him.
A 1959 graduate of Coatesville High School, Jack went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a proud veteran, and his family and community are deeply grateful for his service. Jack dedicated many years of his life to Lukens Steel as a millwright, later continuing his strong work tradition at NAPA Auto Parts, where he proudly served for more than two decades after retiring from the mill.
An avid athlete, Jack was well known for his skill as a softball pitcher, competing in various leagues until age finally forced him from the mound. His love of camaraderie and competition also led him to the Polish American Citizens Club (PACC), where he was a lifetime member, longtime officer, Shuffleboard Team Captain, and Dart League member. Jack cherished the Polish Club and was always willing to give his time, energy, and heart to support it.
Jack is survived by his sons, Temple Coldren and Mark Coldren (wife Julie), and his stepdaughter, Kelly Hargrave Donia (husband Stephen). He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Brittany Kane (husband James), Catherine Segal (husband Brett), Cabrini Coldren, and Hollin Coldren, as well as his great-grandchildren: Evelyn Kane, Avery Kane, Olivia Kane, and Liam Kane.
He is also remembered by his first wife and the mother of his son Mark, Susan Landino Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathleen Ann Coldren, by his sister, Cynthia Mallaieu, and most recently by his beloved Girlfriend of later date, Ethel “Sweetie” Thompson.
