Howard S. Wright

Howard S. Wright was born in Coatesville on January 31, 1945 and passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at the age of 81 in Chester County Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the son of Albert and Blanche Smith Wright.

Howard graduated from S. Horace Senior High School Class of 1962 and went on to earn an Associate's Electrical Engineering Degree at Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia. He began his career at Lukens Steel Company in 1964 starting in the Open Hearth Department, moving to the Electric Furnace as Rotation Foreman, and eventually General Foreman. He retired in 2003 at the age of 58 after Lukens Steel changed ownership.

Howard was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. He loved old cars and was an avid reader. He enjoyed cheering on the Phillies and Eagles. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his great-grandson. He enjoyed trips to the Chesapeake Bay with family every summer.

He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge of Coatesville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Christine;  daughter Lynn Martin (Daryn) of Coatesville; granddaughter Taylor Gordon (Trevor) of Coatesville and great-grandson Maverick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles McNutt and sisters Betty McNutt Van Dyke and Betty Wright Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
