Gladys Huss Kauffman

Gladys Huss Kauffman, 72, of Berwick, formerly of Lancaster County, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 while under the care of Hospice Community Care in Nanticoke, PA. She was the wife of the late Roy J. Kauffman who died in 2002.  Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Paul P. and Ella Church Hawthorne.


Gladys has worked at Harrison Senior Living in Christiana and she also worked for Head Start of Lancaster County.


She is survived by three children; Roy Huss and wife Judy of Cleveland, NC,  Angela Christine Huss of Berwick and Bobby Jo, wife of Tony Iannuzzi of Nanticoke, PA, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three siblings; Paul Hawthorne, Jr. and Shirley Mendez both of Kirkwood and Ruby Taylor of Rising Sun, MD.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA, followed by interment at Union Presbyterian Cemetery in Kirkwood. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 12 noon to 1:00 pm.


Memorial donations may be made in her member to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
