It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Geraldine Goodwin on September 16, 2026. 

She passed into God's forever care in peace. 

She was born in 1939 in Wilmington, DE to parents Carl Pennington and Carmel Roark Pennington. 

Geraldine was the widow of Robert Goodwin Sr, who passed in 1984. 

She is survived by her sister, Jean Snoke; and predeceased by sisters Miriam Tipton, Lois Galloway; and brother Carl Pennington.

She is also survived by daughter Lisa Doyle (Robert), daughter Lauren Mullaney (widow of Dan), son Robert Goodwin Jr, and daughter Sandra Goodwin; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. 

Gerrie's love was her family. 

There is not one person who crossed her path in this life she would not help or pray for. 

Many of Gerrie's friends worked with her at Jamesway, McElree Harvey Law and later at Weis Market, Floral. She excelled at each and everything she touched. Her intelligence, drive, amazing artistic gifts, and love for all was blessedly passed on to her children. 

She loved flowers, gardening, nature, reading biographies, crossword puzzles and being the forever strong, determined, independent and lovingly stubborn Irish she was!

This loss is great and she will be missed by so many; some of whom may not even know when you crossed her path, how much she cared.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
