Obituary

Frances C. Boykins, 83, of Chester County, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Twin Pines Nursing Facility in West Grove, Pa.  Frances "Doll" was the daughter of the late Francis and Pearl (Reeder) Mattson of Coatesville, Pa.

Frances was the mother of three amazing children, Danny, Rob, and Sonya. The three of them gave her 8 beautiful grandchildren.  She continued to be blessed with 13 great grands. Her blessings were plentiful.  She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was loved and will be missed by so many.  Fran was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church of Cochranville, Pa.  She devoted her time to Sunday services and special events at Safe Harbor.  Pastor Gilbert and fellow members of Safe Harbor were considered by her to be her extended family.  She lived to play, beat and cheat Mr. Frank at a game of solitaire. Everyone has favorites, and with great certainty her "favorite niece Joyce and Lorrie"  have always been hers. They have always held a special place in her heart and vice versa.  Their presence has always been of great importance and most significantly to the care and comfort of her final days, weeks, months, years.  During her time at Twin Pines she looked forward to visits from her "favorite" nieces. Those visits are what kept her going. Joyce sat by the window and watched the birds with her while talking about the different birds she saw. Cakes and cookies were her favorite treats and in her words  "Nom Nom!"

She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Rivera, her son Danny Parsons, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her son Robert Parsons and brother Vernon "Bud" Mattson.

Fran looked forward to the day she would go to heaven.  As her soul is welcomed into heaven, to rest in peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity, we pray for the strength and courage to carry on.

A Celebration of Life memorial service is being planned and when the details are completed the information will be post here.
