Eugene “Genie” Williams

October 29, 1934 — March 28, 2016

Eugene “Genie” Williams, 81, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Monday, March 28th at Chester County Hospital of West Chester.  He was the husband of Harriett J. Williams, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Sunnie Williams Sr.  and the late Marie Green Williams.

He served honorably in the US Army.  Eugene worked for 42 years at the former Lukens Steel, retiring in 1995.  He worked with his wife at Williams Day Care until 2009. He was attending the Adult Day Program at Tel Hai until his death.

Genie cared deeply for his family.  He loved sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with others. He enjoyed singing a variety of songs (including his own originals) watching sports (especially the Philadelphia Eagles), cooking, caring for children, playing Sudoku and raising pigeons.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children: Glenn Brickus of Coatesville, Linda Kelly Coatesville, Eugene H. Williams of Coatesville, Richard Williams, husband of Taiese, of Coatesville, Matthew Williams, husband of Shontay, of Coatesville, Polly Foster, wife of Kareem, of Warminster, and Timothy Williams, husband of Linessa, of Neptune City, N.J.; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers; Sunnie Williams Jr., Floyd Green, Luther Williams, Bernard Williams, David Williams, and sister Marjorie Wilkerson Smith.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 8th, 2016 at 11 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates St, Coatesville, PA 19320 with visitation from 9 until 11 AM.
