Obituary

Etta Mae Laird, 89, of Lillian, Al., formerly of Gap and Parkesburg, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.  She was the widow of the late Jonathan L. Laird, Jr., who died in 1989.

Born Nov.16,1925 in Flat Rock, near Independence, VA, she was the daughter of the late Rosa L. (Hudson) and Samuel C. Hash.  Etta Mae was a member of the Grace Community Church of Parkesburg.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Harrison House of Christiana.

She is survived by her five children: Sandra M. Laird, who she resided with in Lillian, Al,  Nancy L. Martin (Jack) of Arizona, Rev. James S. Laird (Wanda) of Georgia, Donald L. Laird (Janet) of East Fallowfield,  and David E. Laird (Sally) of Brandamore, PA, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons; Joseph L. Laird and Jonathan L. Laird, III along with five siblings; Homer Hash, Mildred Whitney, Herman Hash, Ethel Hoxter, and Luther Hash

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg followed by interment in the Bradford Cemetery of Marshallton. Viewing will be from 1 - 2:00 PM.
