Ellen Louise Giroso, a devoted woman of faith and a loving matriarch, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 15, 2026 at the age of 82 in her sons home in Kirkwood, PA. Born in Wilmington, DE she was the daughter of the late Raymond Thompson and Marjorie Short. She was a longtime and faithful member of Kenton United Methodist Church, where her presence, kindness, and unwavering belief touched countless lives. Her faith guided her every step and was the foundation of the life she so beautifully lived.
She was employed by the Avon Grove Schools as a custodian and a long time employee for Walmart.
She is survived by her loving family, who will carry her legacy of faith, love, and compassion forward each day. Her children, Dominick Giroso (Trish) of Felton, DE, Anthony Giroso of Dover, DE, and Vincent Giroso (Shannon) of Kirkwood, PA, nine grandchildren; Wendy(Jordan), Melinda (Brett), Christopher, Morgan(Angel), Cearra (Alec), Vincent Jr.(Mariah), Victoria, Shaylee(Noah) & Jamie(Jordyn). Eleven great-grandchildren; Karlie, Charlie, Emma, Luka, Kinsley, Oliver, Landon, Riley, Abigail, Liam & Brynlee . Her 3 Cats; Callie Ann, Chlo & Punk. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Thompson and a granddaughter, Alyssa Cluesman. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Above all else, she loved her family. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved, whether through shared meals, conversations, laughter, or quiet moments together. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love, and her family will forever cherish the memories created there.
She had a deep appreciation for life and found beauty in even the smallest moments. Whether enjoying time with loved ones, offering a helping hand, or simply taking in the world around her, she approached life with gratitude, grace, and a gentle spirit that will never be forgotten.

Lord, we thank you for the beautiful life you shared with us through her. May she rest peacefully in your eternal care, and may your comfort surround all who loved her. Amen.
