Obituary

Eleanor M. Powers, 91, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at the Brandywine Hospital.  She was the widow of the late Harvey L. Powers, who passed away in 1980.


Born in Coatesville, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Winfield S. Rice and Cora Bell Lammey Rice.

She was a member of the Grace Community Church of Parkesburg.

Eleanor is survived by her two children: Susan E. Griffith of Coatesville and David L. Powers of Coatesville; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and two siblings, Doris T. Brosey of Lancaster and Jerry Dann of Wayne.  She was predeceased by sibling Morris Townsley.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 13th at 11 AM at the Grace Community Church, 53 Hurley Road (off of Upper Valley Rd), Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Pequea Baptist Cemetery of Gap.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 10 until 11 AM.
