Edward S. Dickinson, III

Edward S. "Pie" Dickinson, III, 78, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 13, 2026. He was the husband of the late Antonia Faith "Toni" Dickinson who passed in 2020. They shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, PA, Pie was the son of the late Edward S. Dickinson, II and Caroline Hammond Dickinson. He was a lifetime resident of the area.

Pie was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion AME Church in Atglen, PA. He served as the Lay Committee President, member of the Usher Board, Trustee Board, Cemetery Supervisor, and he sang in the Mass Choir and Men’s Choir.

He was employed by the Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville and later he enjoyed being employed as a Bus Driver with Krapf Transportation. He grew the bus ridership and received many awards over the years. Most notable awards included the Driver of the Year award for 2008 and the Driver of Distinction award in 2011.

In the words of his daughter, Daddy was my hero and the best relationship I have ever had. His granddaughter says he was her favorite Guy, the Man of her dreams, and her Superhero. He was a kind gentle soul, loyal friend, team player, and a caring protector over those he loves.

Pie enjoyed watching Westerns, his football team, the 49ers, and playing Dominos. He had a hidden talent as a great artist who could draw anything. Pie also had a great sense of humor and his laugh was infectious. He was always ready for a good time.

He is survived by his beloved daughter: Kim Dickinson (Robert) of Coatesville; daughter-in-law Rhiannon Levan of Landisville; six grandchildren, #1 granddaughter “Baby Girl” Saaleha, Jalil, JaQuan, Damond, Desmond, and Miguel; six great grandchildren, his boy, Justin “Bogger/JP”, Carter “Brown”, Dallas, Maverick, Journey and Dax; his sisters, Judith Dickinson of Media, and Zelina Holmes (David) of Coatesville, his brothers, Kenny Dickinson (Cindy) of Media, Charles Dickinson of Coatesville, Bruce Dickinson (Gina) of West Chester, Russell Dickinson of Coatesville; and a host of beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was recently preceded in death by his son Shema Dickinson.

Funeral services will held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church Visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion AME Cemetery, Atglen, PA.
