Donna Lou Hare

March 3, 1944 — January 18, 2016

Donna Lou Hare, 71, of Phoenixville, laid her valiant 25-year Struggle with cancer to rest on January 18, 2016. Born on March 3, 1944 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the Maurice J. Hare and Mildred Mowday Gregson.
Donna grew up in the Coatesville area and was a 1961 graduate of Scott High School where she excelled at sports and academics. Her secretarial career took her to Virginia for a number of years. She eventually relocated back to the Devon area and became an executive secretary at Quaker Chemical in Conshohocken, PA.
Throughout her life, Donna loved playing softball and was a member of many co-ed leagues throughout the area; however, her passion was golf. She also loved to travel, especially to Martha's Vineyard, MA and St. Michael's, MD.
A courageous cancer warrior, Donna foughtmultiple cancers. She was a legend among the doctors and nursing staffs at Paoli and University of Pennsylvania hospitals. Because of her positive attitude and determined grit to fight the cancers, she was known to most all of the preeminent doctors in the field of cancer treatment.

Donna is survived by a brother Maurice Hare (Judith) of Coatesville, two nieces; Marissa Ouaddafi (Abdul) of west Grove, PA and Megan Hare of Herndon, VA and a very special grand-niece, Sabrina Ouaddafi. She also leaves behind a half-brother, two half-sisters and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Friday January 29, 2016 at 11AM from the Spring Hollow Golf Club, 3350 Schuylkill Rd, Spring City, PA 19475. Visitation from 10 until 11 AM.
