Dale R. Murr, affectionately known as Jake, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 in Christiana, Pennsylvania, at the age of 95. Born on September 16, 1930 in Georgetown, PA, Dale’s long and remarkable life spanned nearly a century, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Dale proudly served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952 thru 1954. After being honorably discharged, Dale dedicated his professional life to his craft, working as a skilled sheet metal fabricator for Evcor and later Clark Electric.

Throughout his life, Dale found joy in his relationships with both family and friends. He loved to share his love of hunting and many stories will be remembered. He treasured the connection he shared with his longtime life companion Anna Groff, whose children and grandchildren became a special part of his life.

Dale is survived by his beloved nephews Randy (Shirley) Fenninger, John Howe, William Armer and his beloved nieces Sharon (Rufus) Kreider, Susan (David) Henry, Beth Ann Eldridge, Brenda Lowery and JoAnne (Terry) Gainer, as well as the loved children and grandchildren of the Eller, Tollinger, Waite and Swift families. Their memories of his kindness and steady support will be cherished always.

He was preceded in death by his father, Graydon Murr; his mother, Thelma Reese Murr; his brothers Glenn Murr and Calvin (Bill) Murr; and his sisters Dorothy Howe, Helen Armer, and Shirley Fenninger. He also mourned the passing of his dear companion, Anna Groff.

In keeping with his wishes, family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery, Georgetown, PA on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
