Colleen Riccardelli, of Atglen, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on January 5, 1948, at Bryn Mawr Hospital to Harold Johnson and Catherine Fogarty.
Colleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who shared 56 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard A. Riccardelli. Her life was marked by kindness, strength, generosity, and a keen sense of humor. She was known for her welcoming nature and the warmth she brought into every room. She found her greatest joy in her family, gardening, and spending time with her congregation at church.
A graduate of Archbishop Pendergast High School, Colleen was also a member of the Class of 1969 at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where she nurtured her passion for creativity. She was a talented artist who carried her love of art throughout her life, enriching both her own world and the lives of those around her.
Colleen dedicated part of her career to the food service industry and worked as a baker at Wegmans from 2003 to 2012. She was beloved by her coworkers and community alike. As one coworker fondly remembered, “She made going to work so much fun. I loved her so much.”
She was a fantastic cook whose meals brought her family together for birthdays, holidays, and celebrations. Her family will dearly miss the care, warmth, and love she poured into her homemade recipes. She also found great joy in the companionship of her beloved dogs, Finn and Henry.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Richard A. Riccardelli; her son, Sean Riccardelli, and his wife, Deanna Riccardelli; her daughter, Melissa Osborne, and her late husband, Martin Osborne; her sister, Karen Dawson, her husband Edward Dawson; her grandchildren, Tony and Kyle Osborne, and Liza Riccardelli Redcay, Elina Riccardelli Julian, and Levi Riccardelli; and her great-grandchild, Enzo Redcay, son of Liza Riccardelli Redcay. She was also preceded in death by her father, Harold Johnson; her mother, Catherine Fogarty; and her twin brother, Craig Johnson.
Colleen’s generous spirit, creativity, and deep love for her family created a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be remembered as a kind and vibrant soul whose legacy of love and compassion will live on for generations.
A memorial service will be held on May 23, 2026, with the time and location to be announced.
Colleen will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her.
