Clarence Everett Martin, Sr., 85, of Downingtown, passed away at his home on Monday, January 12, 2015. Born in Glenmoore, he was the son of the late William P. and Minnie Miller Martin.

A County resident all his life, he proudly served in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949.

Everett was a lifelong trucker, retiring after 29 years from Walter J. Styer Inc. of Eagle, PA in 1991.

He is survived by eight children: Susan M. Stasny, wife of John,  Katherine M. Snyder, Barbara A. Hurd, Gregory P. Martin, husband of Jamie, Douglas E. Martin, husband of Andrea, James B. Martin, husband of Glenna,  Clarence E. Martin Jr., all of Downingtown and Jean M. Sciarretta, wife of Richard, of Cochranville, 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joshua T. Martin and Zachary J. Stasny, a great granddaughter, Taylor R. Hood, and eight siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by interment at the Hopewell Methodist Cemetery, Downingtown. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm and also Monday from 10 to 11am.
