Charles L. Steen, Sr.

Charles L. Steen, Sr., 88, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was the beloved husband of Sandra E. Gillespie Steen with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Howard P. Steen and Katherine Whiteman Steen.

Charlie was an area resident all his life who honorably served in the US Army Reserves for six years. He was employed by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville as a blaster operator.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in nature and taking care of his lawn.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons; Charles L. Steen, Jr. and Bryan Steen, five grandchildren; Tiffany, Candice, Brittnee, Xander and Carsyn, three great grandchildren; Kayla, Maci and Juni, two brothers; Howard and George Steen and one sister Linda McKim.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W Kings Highway, Coatesville, PA with visitation and viewing at the Church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will be private.
