Charles E. Cook

Charles “Chuck” E. Cook, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was the beloved husband of deLoros Groff Cook, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Marie Johnson and Frank E. Cook.

Chuck was born and raised in the Thorndale, PA area, then moved to West Brandywine, PA. He was a graduate of Coatesville Area School District  – Class of 1962. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he deployed to Vietnam.  He served from 1962-1966. After the Marine Corps, he worked at American Hardware/ServiStar in Parkesburg, PA for more than 30 years. He retired from ServiStar then went to work at Walmart for more than 20 years.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons; going to the beach; and working outside. He was a lifetime member of the Thorndale Fire Co., and a lifetime member of the VFW Downingtown.  

In addition to his wife he is survived by, his two sons, Charles “Chip” E. Cook, Jr. and wife RaShae, of Suffolk, VA, and Chad G. Cook and wife Rory, of West Chester, PA, and sister Barb. He also has 3 grandsons, David (21 yr.), Owen (8 yr.), and Nolan (5 yr.). He was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Marie, and brothers Rich and John.

Chuck will be missed dearly by his family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA., with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National MS Society
