Obituary

Bettie J. Dowlin, 85, formerly of Downingtown, died on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the widow of William O. Dowlin who passed away in 2002. Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Linn and Clara Fisher Gibson.


Bettie was a 1944 graduate of the Downingtown High School. Down through the years, she had attended the Coatesville Presbyterian Church, KingsWay Independent Church and East Brandywine Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter Linda D. Rummel of Coatesville, daughter-in-law Debra Dowlin of Bear, DE, three grandchildren; Chris Rummel, Joshua Dowlin and Alexandra Dowlin and one sister, Roxanne Wisler of Exton. She was preceded in death by her son Craig O. Dowlin and three siblings; Linn Gibson, Jr., Leona McCue and Eleanor Gabel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2 pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with a viewing from 1 to 2 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to County Corrections Gospel Missions, P.O. Box 1136, Coatesville, PA 19320.
