Thelma L. Weaver, 85, of Parkesburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Elmer M. Weaver who died in 1995. Born in Highland Township, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Newton M. Griest and Ruth I. Howett Griest. 

Thelma was a Highland Township resident all her life and a 1955 graduate of the former Cochranville High School. She was last employed by Griest Auction as a merchandise stager retiring seven years ago.

She was a member of the Wordup Community Ministries Church of Gap, PA.

She is survived by one daughter Charlotte L. Leonard, with whom she lived with, three granddaughters; Tiffanie Benfield (Jonathan), Shannon Kemplin (John) and Nicole Gilkison (Kevin), eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, (with one on the way), one brother Charles N. Griest (Pat) of Coatesville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth Griest, Sr. and Harry L. Griest, son-in-law David W. Leonard and more recently her sister-in-law Florine A. Griest. 

The family would especially like to thank the visiting nursing staff of Accent Care for their professional and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with a viewing from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Family and friends are also invited to attend a viewing on Thursday evening, July 7th, at the funeral home, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Penningtonville Presbyterian Cemetery, Atglen, PA.
