Shirley H. Brown, 66, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, March 6, under the care of the Neighborhood Hospice Center of West Chester.  She was the widow of the late Lawrence H. Brown Jr., with whom she shared 22 years of marriage.

Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late William H. Trago and Eva Houck Trago.  She was employed throughout her life by various sewing factories.  She was an active member of the Full Gospel Assembly of Parkesburg for 58 years.  Throughout the 1960’s she served within the Sunday School ministries and from 1994 through 2007 served as a church trustee.  

She is survived by her stepchildren: Glenn T. Brown, husband of Magie, of Florida, Thomas L. Brown, husband of Pat, of Ripley, N.Y., Arthur Brown of Coatesville, Ronald E. Brown, husband of Linda, of Sea Isle, N.J. and Teresa M. Brown Crubb of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her sister, Grace Brooks - Reinholds.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Full Gospel Assembly, 3018 E. Lincoln Highway, Parkesburg, PA 19365, followed by interment in the Georgetown Methodist Cemetery.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Simeon Strauser with Pastor Maurice Brown in assistance. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 10 until 11 AM at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Full Gospel Assembly at the above address.

As a member of the congregation, Shirley was one that faithfully attended and participated with her Church for over 58 years. She will be missed greatly. Her testimony of love for the Lord will be carried by all who had the privilege to have known her.

I never met Shirley in person but we were penpals for many years. We did talk on the phone several times. She did some neat handiwork and mailed it to me. It will always remain special to me as she was. I will miss her comical letters a lot. May Shirley rest in Peace.
