Ruth W. Taggart, 76, of New Holland, formerly of Honey Grove, PA, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Taggart, Sr. who died in 2011. They shared 53 years of marriage together. Born in Malvern, she was the daughter of the late Fred Whitely, Sr. and Elizabeth Zug Whitely.

Ruth attended the West Chester High School. She was employed for over 20 years as cafeteria manager at the Kings Highway Elementary School. She attended the South Juniata Baptist Church of Honey Grove & 1st Baptist Church of Mifflintown, and more recently the 1st Baptist Church in New Holland.

She is survived by two children; Pamela Breitenbach and husband William of Coatesville and Timothy Taggart and wife Karri of Coatesville, four grandchildren; Ryan Taggart and fiance Christina, Megan Lamkin and husband Bill, Alex Taggart and Libby Taggart, and two siblings; Fred Whitely, Jr. and wife Eleanor of Robesonia, PA and June Whitely of Colorado Springs, CO. She was preceded in death by one son Donald Taggart, Jr. who died in 2014.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11 AM at the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W Kings Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320 with Pastor Tim Crans officiating.  The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM at the church.  Interment will take place the following day at 1 PM at East Waterford Cemetery, Juniata County, East Waterford, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society,  P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the American Diabetes Association,  P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.
