Ruth J. Kellum, 78, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the Brandywine Hall Nursing Home in West Chester, PA. Born in Chatham, PA, she was the daughter of the late James A. Wilkerson and Mary Fountain Wilkerson.

Ruth was a County resident all her life. She was employed at the Coatesville Hospital and later at the Brandywine Hospital for over 50 years as a dietician.

She is survived by one son Paul Kellum and wife Marian of Coatesville, four grandchildren Paul Kellum Jr., Paulisha Kellum, Tyler Kellum, Amir Kellum and one great grandchild Paige Kellum. She was preceded in death by her sisters; Naomi Wilkerson , Evelyn Wilkerson, Lena Lambert, Agnes Rudolph and brothers, Francis Wilkerson, Calvin Wilkerson and Carlton Wilkerson. Ruth spent some of her free time playing bingo and having a little fun at the casino. But what truly excited her the most is when she got the opportunity to see or speak with her grandchildren They were a ray of sunshine to her eyes. Ruth will truly be missed by all those who love her. May she forever rest in peace.

Due to the current restriction on public gatherings, services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ruth Jean Wilkerson Kellum, who was a classmate of mine at East Fallowfield School in the 1950's.  She was a sweet and lovely girl whom we all liked very much.  My condolences to her family, with a word of encouragement: She has now graduated for the final time to our Lord's Heavenly Kingdom!  Someday, in God's perfect time, we wil see her again!

Thoughts of Ms. Ruth brings a smile to my face. Playing in her yard with Paul (Jr) when we were little, and coming in to talk with her thereafter. My condolences for your loss, family. Rest assured that she knew the Father in Heaven and I envision her in her best form smiling down on us.

Much love! Hugs!
