Richard G. Himelright, Sr., 70, of Coalport, PA,  formerly of Coatesville and Modena, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Altoona Regional Hospital.

He was the husband of Barbara Bradford Himelright with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Jesse L. and Anna J. Clark Himelright. Dick proudly served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1960 aboard the USS Essex. He was employed by Hoppes Gun Care of Sadsburyville retiring in 2002.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Melissa, wife of David Brown of Coalport, Michelle, wife of Michael Matzye of East Fallowfield, and Richard Himelright, Jr. of West Caln, four grandchildren; David and Megan Brown of Coalport, Kyle Jones and Kacie Mazye both of E. Fallowfield, four brothers; Leonard Himelright of Glenmore, Jack and Robert Himelright both of Coatesville and Miller Himelright of Modena, seven sisters; Nellie Smith and Jane DeHaven both of Narvon, Margaret Himelright of Oxford, Helen Bleecher of Lewistown, Linda Killian of Tennessee, Karen Bowerman of Lebanon and Anna Davies of Jennersville, one sister-in-law Linda Bradford of E. Fallowfield and two brother-in-laws William Bradford of Coatesville and James Bradford of Rock Hall, MD. He was preceded in death by two siblings; Jesse G. Himelright and Peggy A. Clark Ream.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery in East Fallowfield, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing which will be held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00pm and also Wednesday from 10:00am to the time of the service.

Grandma & the rest of my family,
He was THE strongest man i know and he always will be sadly missed and loved, but we are a strong close family and I know that it may take quite some time but we WILL make it through this.
