Affectionately known as “Sis” she was the second of nine children. Sis was educated at Octorara High School in Atglen PA where she was proficient in shorthand and typing. During her tenure at High School she was selected to be a Library’s Assistant.

In 1967 Sis met her future husband Joe Burns. They were united in matrimony in September 1967. Unfortunately, Sis was widowed in 1998.

Reading was also one of her passions, as well as watching reality TV shows. She loved Amazing Race, Survivor, Hell’s Kitchen, and Big Brother.
