Mary Ellen Peachey Canan, 85, of Parkesburg, passed away on Sunday, August 28 at the Mount Joy Hospice Center. She was the widow of the late Jack Canan, who passed in 1982.


Born in Atglen, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Bertha Keller Peachey. She was a graduate of the Christiana High School.


She is survived by her four children: Barbara, wife of Dale Rettew, of Christiana, Jack Jr., husband of Mary, of Newtown Square, Rande, husband of Vanessa, of Cochranville, Pa. and Michael of Oxford; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.


The service will be held at the convenience of the family.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Ellen's memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
