Lois Anne Hagans, 81, of Valley Township, Coatesville, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in West Chester, PA.  She was the wife of  Pastor Daniel G. Hagans for over 66 years.  Born in Mountain City, TN, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Bonnie Dickens Nichols.

If you asked Lois Hagans who she is, she would tell you that she is a busy mother and a pastor's wife.  However, Lois was not only a mother and helpmate but also very active in the ministry and community.  She taught Good News Club for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years.  She taught in many of the homes in the community and had the privilege of leading many young people to the Lord.

Lois was a natural leader and organized weekly Sunday School Classes and outreach events for the church, such as Vacation Bible School and Easter Egg Hunts.  She later became a guest speaker/teacher for Ladies' Bible Studies.

Lois had a passion for singing Southern Gospel Hymns.  She used her gift of singing to encourage many.  Lois also sang on the Bible Christianity Television Program in Coatesville for many years.

In recent years Lois used her leadership skills to organize and teach the Share and Care Ministry at Wagontown Chapel.  Finally, she enjoyed participating in the 2022 Christmas Play, where she had another opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel with the children.

Pastor Hagans said that Lois was a precious Jewel mined out of the mountains of Tennessee that God put into his life.  Lois Anne Nichols Hagans was a Proverbs 31:10 virtuous woman who loved God and people.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Linda C (Dale) Adams of Coatesville, Susan Bradley of Coatesville, Deborah J. (Ralph) of Prospect Park, PA, and Daniel D. (Zena) Hagans of Newmansville, PA, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by grandsons, Stephen and Aaron, a great granddaughter Julia Adams, and siblings, Edna Osborne, Ruth Jardin, Mildred Graybeal, William A. Nichols, Bill Nichols, and John Nichols.

Private graveside services at Hephzibah Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.  A public memorial service at Wagontown Chapel will be held in the future and details will be posted here upon completion.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 187 Country Club Road Coatesville, PA 19320.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

My sincere condolences to Lois family , Heaven received another beautiful angel ! When I was a young girl to my teens I attended Kingsway Church where I meant the Haggans family, Lois loved the kids and treated us all as if we were her children , she signed my first bible ! She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing !  Her smile was contagious, whenever I would see her as a adult , she never forgot who I was , always hugged me & talked to me as if time never passed and I was always my little “ BethAnn “ to her ! I will never forget her , my heart has so many fond memories!

Our condolences to the Hagans Family.  I met Lois Hagans when I was 6 years old.  Linda Adams (Hagans) and I were friends from 1st grade at Rainbow Elementary School, and still very good friends today.  Linda invited myself, my 2 brothers and 2 sisters to her mother's (Lois) Good News Club after school.  We would go and learn about the love of God from this dear woman. We eventually went to the church that they help start, Kingsway Independent Church.   She has meant so much to our family.  They helped us in so many ways...from teaching us about the Love of God, and us needing a Savior, to having us for overnights, Halloween Parties, Christmas Caroling, Picnics, and I especially remember a Christmas where we from a divorced family, had very little, and this particular Christmas, they took us in for Christmas and made sure we each had a gift to open on Christmas Morning.  They definitely showed us what it meant to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  They treated us just like we were their family.  I will miss her dearly, and wished over the years we had seen her more, but whenever we did see Lois and Daniel Hagans, it was just like we had been together yesterday. Praying for the Hagans family as you grieve the loss of this dear woman, but also celebrate with you that she is home with our Lord and Savior.  Blessings to all of you.

To the Hagans Family:

My fondest memories are of our families spending LOTS of time together; going to Good News Club and overnights, parties, youth club get togethers and so much more.  Your mother was a light shining in some of the dark days of our lives.  I will never forget how she made us feel like we were part of your family and her smile, her laughter and her LOVE!  One of the last times I saw her, she tapped me on the shoulder from behind at a church I was attending and asked if I remembered her (and Rev. Hagans too) and OF COURSE I did - she is unforgettable.  I am so sorry for your loss but know that we will see her again one day in our HEAVENLY home and I look forward to that day with rejoicing even as I shed tears for her passing.

Love, Peggy (Lewis) Carnathan

My condolences to all the family of Lois Hagans.  Lois and I go back many years and it is with much sadness that we learn of her passing.  She was an Angel the Lord needed to walk among us on earth, and now He needs Lois for Heavenly Angel duties.

So sorry to hear this! I met Mrs. and Pastor Hagans at Kingsway Church when I was a kid. I took part in a Christmas play she led once. My Mother, Barbara, was good friends with her, would always visit her and Pastor Hagans when she could. Heaven has an angel now!

Hi mom
It’s been a little over a year now that you went to Heaven and it sometimes seems like years ago and then other days it seems like yesterday. I still can’t believe it… all the memories are starting to rush over my mind like a flood… sometimes they consume my days. I will always be thankful that the Lord saw fit to grace our family with your kindness, wisdom, beauty, always supporting and encouraging us to be GOD’S best. I know that heaven has been made more special now that you are there. Oh…by the way, please let dad know we miss him ,too…and go easy on him.😄😄😄💕💕💕💕💕
I love you so much, and that goes for the rest of the family as well. We will meet again someday. 😘💋✝️
