Linda Marie Manning, 72, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.  She was the wife of John R. Manning Jr. for almost 55 years. Born in West Chester she was the daughter of the late Morris and Marie Leslie Simes Sr.

Linda was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Harrison House, Coatesville, Hickory House, Honey Brook, and retired from Freedom Village in West Brandywine.  During their retirement years Linda and John traveled to various vacation destinations.  Her only requirement was that she had to have a sandy beach, warm water to swim and a sunny climate to sunbathe.  They would return year after year to her favorites, Jamaica seven times, Mexico five times and various other island destinations, including Hawaii.  While on her travels she enjoyed buying souvenirs for her children and grandchildren and couldn't wait once she got home to show them.  Her other passion was taking trips to the casinos in the surrounding areas.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, John W. (Mara) Manning and April (Brian) McCoy, both of Coatesville, grandchildren, Joseph and Justin Manning, and Raven and Brian McCoy Jr., siblings, Morris (Carol) Simes Jr. of Phoenixville, Carol (Jim) Andrews of Royersford, and Carl (Mary) Simes of Pottstown.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Simes and daughter-in-law, Melissa Manning.

Condolences

Mom, you were my rock and best friend.  We are in pain from your sudden death but at peace knowing that you are not in pain and you do not have to conquer another battle with cancer.  You will always be loved and cherished and we have a whole lifetime of memories to share and find comfort in.  You can finally rest and be reunited with your mom, dad and brother Barry.  Until we meet again.
