Howard Francis Cann, 80, departed his earthly body on Monday January 16.  He was reunited with his parents Mary and William, brothers Kenny, Teddy, Larry, James, and Hugh, sisters Sally, Mary, and Jean, his wife Barbara, other family members and beloved friends.

His daughters Lori (Jack), Carolynn (Joseph), and Sara (Ray), grandchildren Parker (Bella), Joseph, Carter, Gavin, Jake, Brayden, Samantha, and Morgan, sister Sally, fiancé Patricia, and many friends and extended family will continue to share their memories and love for him.

Born in Elsmere, DE on July 9, 1942, Howard lived in Delaware most of his life, though he did enjoy some time in NJ, PA, VA, and MD. Howard was a talented painter and reseller who enjoyed his work and those he worked with over the years.  He worked hard to provide and care for those he loved, and shared everything he earned and learned throughout his life.  He was a devoted father and grandfather, always excited to be with family and enjoyed his retirement years with his daughter and grandchildren. In recent years, he was blessed to have his loving partner Trish by his side.

Howard always had a toothpick in his mouth, a handkerchief handy, and a cooler of ice cold Pepsi nearby.  He was a great pool player and spent precious time with family and friends around a pool table.  Finding new friends wherever he went, he shared never-ending joy with his infectious smile and giggle every chance he got.  His free-spirited, kind, gentle and caring nature will be carried in the memories of those he knew.

At Howard’s request, there will not be a formal funeral service.  He asks that in remembrance and in lieu of flowers, you take a moment to share your smile, a Pepsi, and a game of pool.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home in Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
