Gordon Leigh Stilwell, 91, of Honey Brook, passed away on Friday October 25, 2019 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community. He was the beloved husband of Jean Evelyn Mercer Stilwell with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Athens, GA, he was the son of the late Courtland Brooks Stilwell and Theresa Worrall Stilwell Eshleman.

Gordon was a resident of Downingtown for 62 years. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart and four Bronze Service Stars.

Throughout his working career, He was employed as a mechanic. His training was as an auto mechanic but after coming home from Korea He was employed as a lathe operator at Beloit Corporation in Downingtown until they closed. He was then hired as head mechanic for Gallagher Equipment Company building and repairing bucket trucks and specialized in hydraulics. After retiring he worked part time building hydraulic chiropractic tables at Hill Laboratories.

He and his family attended Bacton Hill Bible Church in Malvern where he served as an Deacon for many years. In later years, He and his wife attended the East Brandywine Baptist Church until moving to Tel Hai.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four daughters; Linda Jones Schade of Ocean View, Hawaii, Nancy Doane and husband Bruce of Coatesville, Susan Thompson and husband Randy of Downingtown and Donna Russell and husband Scott of Atglen, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Courtland Brooks Stilwell.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Tel Hai Chapel, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA 19344, followed by interment at the Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the Chapel from 9:00 AM to the time of the service.

So sorry to hear of Gordon's passing.  Jean and girls, we are praying for you.  I know Gordon was dealing with a lot of health problems and it is such a comfort to know that he knew Jesus 

as his Lord and Saviour and lived for Him daily.  Gordon is now home with his Lord and we look forward to seeing him again
