Doris I. Hilton (83) of East Fallowfield, PA; passed away at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. Hilton Sr. who passed away in 2007 after over 52 years of marriage.  Born in West Fallowfield Township, PA; she was the daughter of the late Clifford B. and Dorothy E. Shute Hoover.

Doris attended the West Fallowfield School in Cochranville, PA, through adolescence and worked in a mushroom cannery in Kelton, PA.  She was a member of the former Chapel Road Baptist Church in Doe Run, PA.

Doris was an avid fan of watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Professional Wrestling. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word searches. In recent years, Doris loved to spend time making memories with her children and grandchildren at their family vacation home at Buttonwood Beach.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence E. Hilton Jr. (Betty) of East Fallowfield, and Judy A. Killingsworth (Bill) of Pomeroy; Grandchildren, Lawrence E. Hilton III (Neshaminy), Kelly A. Hipp (Wesley), J.P. Fogel; Great-grandchildren, Angela N. Hilton (Zac), Lance M. Hilton, Robin P. Hilton; Great-great-grandchildren, Adriana N. Lombardo, Memphis L. Lombardo; Siblings, Barbara Gibson of Adairsville, GA, Clifford B. Hoover of Leola, PA, and Patsy E. Fite of Coatesville, Lillian Simes of East Earl. She was preceded in death by sisters, Marian Cox, Anna Mary Wiggins, and Janet Blair, brothers, Ralph, Chester, Donald, and Larry Hoover, and son-in-law, Stephen Killingsworth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Interment to follow at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery in East Fallowfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital. Maw, was a wonderful woman and I’m glad I got to have her in my life when I needed her most!! She was right there when I lost my mom, not to mention she used to take me to see my mom while she laid in a coma!! I will always hold her close to my heart for that!! I had no clue that she passed away until not!! Lawrence (Pete), Judy, Bettyann, and kids I’m very sorry for your loss I know how much she meant to all of you!! May she R.I.P.
