Deborah Paulson Groff, 59, of Honey Brook passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Walter Paulson and Dale Hemmingway. She was the beloved wife of Richard Groff, Jr. with whom she shared 10 years of marriage.  

She was an excellent mother who loved her family immensely. Her life revolved around her children and their friends; her home was always a haven for those in need. She was an excellent cook who always made sure those around her were fed. She was also well-known for her love of animals, caring for countless strays and abandoned animals during her life.  

She is survived in addition to her husband by four children: Heather Pandola of Wernersville, Anna Umble and husband Matthew of Honey Brook, Lewis Ray of Honey Brook, and Craig Ray of Honey Brook. Additionally, she is survived by one brother Lester Paulson and his wife Bonnie of Millsboro Delaware, and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by two siblings: Mark Paulson and wife Erica of Prospect Park and Buddy Paulson and wife Judy of Christiana.  

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 10, 2023, from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Nothing can ever replace a true friend- no matter how much time has come between us.  Debbie has been a friend and someone I could depend on.  So many memories that will be with me forever!  Grief is the price we pay for love.  I have and will continue to value the friendship Debbie and I have shared.   Thinking of you all.

Meeting you and sharing with you was beautiful, you gave me that love that I needed so much, I will not forget your hugs, I love you, and your msgs telling me I miss you and when you told me to do your hair, I loved doing it. I had a big heart full of love for your family and Your grandchildren and your loved ones were very strong and brave, my baby Lewis I inherited from you, he is also a very strong and brave baby. I hope God has you in a beautiful place as you deserve. While I did not have the pleasure of meeting you in person, without a doubt you were a wonderful person and a great mother, which it's reflected through the kind and amazing person your daughter Annie is.
