While her sons were attending Friendship Elementary School, she was very active in the PTA, and although working full time, she served as a homeroom mother, a role she later reprised as a homeroom Grandmother when her two younger grandchildren attended East Fallowfield Elementary school.

Betty Lou is survived by two sons, Lance (Shelly) and Lane (Janene), all of Coatesville; two grandsons, Zachary (Dawn) and Ryan also of Coatesville; two granddaughters, Nancy (Jacob Kreider) of Lancaster and Kaylee (Michael Barnhart) of West Chester; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Kreider. She is also survived by two sisters, Natalie J. Sigle of Coatesville and Nancy J. Doughty (Wes) of Berwyn, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John H Rineer, Sr., a sister, Evelyn Connor, a nephew, Terrance Ramaley and a grand-nephew Shawn Green.
