Barbara Marie Treadway, 87, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Gerald Treadway with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Harriet Brosey Martin.

Barb attended Lancaster Public Schools graduating in 1954 from McCaskey High School. After high school she was employed at Armstrong Cork Company. After her marriage to Gerry, they moved to Parkesburg where her life involved raising her family of four children. She later worked at the Parkesburg Free Library and the local Chester County District Court.

Barb was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg where she participated in many church activities. She will be well remembered by family and friends for making, by hand, the best Lenten Fasnachts (donuts).

Barb and Gerry enjoyed living in Parkesburg and spent many years restoring and caring for their Victorian home. She and Gerry enjoyed participating in Road Scholar Programs for many years. Most of all, they enjoyed visits from their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Treadway and wife Vicki of Parkesburg, Ann Smoker and husband Barry of Quarryville, Lynn Sabellico and husband Tony of Parkesburg and Ellen Weaver and husband Tim of Quarryville, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Renee and one sister Mary Enos.

Memorial services will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.  Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Goodbye, Dear Friend.  You will be missed by many, but not more than we are missing you now.  We had great times together at parties at your house and on wonderful vacation trips to Mount Rushmore and Canada.  Even though we were separated by miles from each other for many years, we kept in touch with each other and some of our high school friends for a number of years. I will miss our many conversations and laughs we shared.  John joins me in sympathy to Gerry and the kids and grandkids," Barbie".  We love you.
