Arthur J. Donarski, Sr., 88, of Coatesville, formerly of Florida, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Rupp Donarski, with whom he shared sixty-four and a half years of marriage.

Born in Chicago, ILL, he was the son of the late Joseph and Martha Claybor Donarski. A resident of Chicago most of his life, he was employed by Interlake of Riverdale, ILL, as a Security Officer, retiring in 1983. He served honorably in the US Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant with the 71st Infantry Division. He was wounded in action during the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Purple Heart. He also lived in Florida for 25 years, before moving to Coatesville for the last two and a half years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children: Arthur J. Donarski Jr., husband of Karen, of Spring Hill, FL, Joyce M. Schneider, wife of Karl, of Coatesville and Daniel A. Donarski, husband of Leticia, of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; and one brother, Father Richard Donarski of Conyers, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister Alice Pisano.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.
