Joseph C. Johnson, 60, of Sadsburyville, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was the husband of the late Jill Filka Johnson. Born in Lancaster, he was the beloved son of Charles E. Johnson and Velma G. "Gerri" Barlow Johnson of East Earl, PA. 

Joe was an area resident most of his life and a 1979 graduate of the Coatesville Area Senior High School. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Belleau Wood. 

He was employed by the EdgeCraft Knife Manufacturing Company in Hockessin, DE as a machinist. 

He enjoyed trips to the mountains, attending local auctions and going to dirt bike races.
 
He is survived, in addition to his parents, by two sons; Joseph C. Johnson, Jr. and wife Manuella of Ephrata and Cyle Johnson of Oxford, PA, two granddaughters; Alison and Matilda Johnson, one sister, Deborah Ann Baker of Surprise, AZ and her children Ronald and Stephanie, and one brother Charles E. Johnson II and wife Bethann of Lancaster and their children Charles Nathan Johnson, Charles Robert Johnson and Carissa Tripple.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Pequea Baptist Church, 6062 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA 17527 with a viewing at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation for disabled Veterans at https://t2t.org/donate/

Joe was a great guy with a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.

Sorry for your loss. Joe was a great guy
I worked with him at Edgecraft for about ten years. It was always great to chat with him. He loved racing and always talked about going up to the mountains and loving off the land. RIP.
