Thomas Joseph Wardell
“Tommy” “Shuggs” “Wadd”
November 8th, 1966 -- January 4th, 2022

Thomas Joseph Wardell, 55, of West Grove, passed away on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 under the care of Chester County Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Sharon “Sherry” Wardell, with whom he shared 40 years of life together and 33 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, Tommy was the son of the late Joanne Meredith and Joseph Thomas Wardell, and the stepson of the late Donna Wardell.  He was a 40 year resident of West Grove. Tommy was a hard-working man who proudly owned and operated Wardell Trucking for 27 years.  In his younger years, Tommy worked for the former Berlyn Auto Body.

Tommy was a member of New London Baptist Church.  He was also a proud member of the NRA  and the ODIA Trucking Association .

Tommy could fix anything and enjoyed working on his 1994 Chevy S-10 race truck and riding his 2006 Harley-Davidson Night Train.  Tommy was a true Patriot who took the 2nd Amendment seriously with his gun collection.  He enjoyed camping, trips to the Outer Banks, and he could always be found in his year-round apparel of basketball shorts and work boots.  Tommy loved working in the garage with his buddies.  He ended every phone call by saying, "call me if you need me" and he always followed through.

Most of all, Tommy loved his family, and reminded  Sherry daily that he loved her.  Tommy showed unconditional love to everyone, especially his wife, daughters and his four-legged best friend, Tucker.

Tommy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his two daughters, Nicole Wardell of West Grove and Tori Wardell (Keith) of North East; his brother Joseph Wardell Jr (Jessica), of Rising Sun,  John Wardell (Beth) of Wilmington, and James Wardell of Wilmington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family and friends that he cared so deeply for.

In addition to his parents and stepmother, Tommy was predeceased by his brother, Richard Wardell, his stepbrother, Kenneth Blevins, and his maternal grandparents, Mom-mom and Pop-pop Abrams.

Tommy's funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11 AM at New London Baptist Church, 226 Pennock Bridge Rd, West Grove, PA 19390, with a visitation from 9 AM until 11 AM.  All who come are asked to dress casually, preferable wearing Wardell Trucking, Harley-Davidson, drag racing or other trucking attire.

In order to protect those at risk, please wear a face mask while at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy's memory to either the New London Baptist Church or the NRA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.  Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
