Jennifer Lynn Rutledge, 46, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in West Chester.  She was the wife of Dwane W. Rutledge for over twenty years.  Born in Coatesville she was the daughter of Patricia L. (Dean) Florian and Robert M. Florian Sr.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children, Jenna Lynn, Anna Elizabeth, Jack William, and Paige Kathryn Rutledge all of Coatesville, and her siblings, Brianne (William “Paso”) Miranda of Pomeroy, and Robert (Valoree) Florian Jr. of Coatesville and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jennifer was a 1993 graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High.  Upon graduation, she was employed at the former Lukens Steel Company before moving to her current employer, The Vanguard Group where she has been for the last 26 years.

A devoted wife and mother to her four children, Jennifer’s family was her life.  She enjoyed vacationing at the beach yearly with her entire family, sitting at the softball fields watching her daughters play, and being the best aunt to her nieces and nephews (Nicholas, Jared, Anthony, Olivia, Natalie, Sophia, Madilyn, Zander) who she adored dearly.

Jennifer loved helping the community. She spent countless hours organizing and planning various events for all the children at Rainbow Elementary School as the PTO President.  Jennifer also was a leader of her daughter's Girl Scout Troop where she helped the girls achieve many goals.  She organized softball fundraisers to support the teams her daughters played on, most recently the Oxford Diamond Divas.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents John H. and Bettie A. (McWilliams) Dean, and an aunt, Nancy K Dean.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, with visitation from 1:00 until service time.  Interment to follow at Upper Octorara Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the educational support of her children to “Jennifer Rutledge Memorial Fund” at Citadel Credit Union, 1246 Cornerstone Blvd., Downingtown, PA 19335.

Jennifer was such a wonderful person to work with. She was always willing to help out and did so with a smile. When I think about Jennifer I think about all the times she would light up as she shared stories about her children and the most recent activity they were involved in. She was always so proud of her kids and it was apparent they were her world. My heart goes out to her family and I hope they feel surrounded by much love.

I had the privilege of working with Jennifer for the past 8 years. Jennifer had a smile that could brighten your day, a fabulous laugh, and a sense of humor that could cheer up any mood. She shared many stories of her children and family, and her face beamed with pride as she talked about the many adventures you all had.  She tried to see the best in everybody, and her compassion for people is what I admired most about her. She was an amazing person, and her passing has deeply impacted me and many others. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend her service in person as I am in Chicago visiting family, but please know my prayers are with you all at this time.

Jennifer’s sudden passing is yet another affirmation of just how precious life is and to be grateful and thankful for those who come across our path in life.  I read often about loving your neighbors. Our neighbors are all community members we interact with.  I witnessed Jennifer’s love for her community through serving others.  And she made it look so pleasant and easy to model.  I was so privileged to serve with her and under her direction for a few various events.  The greatest leaders in life serve others, and the most accomplished are delegates. She will be remembered as both, in a kind and loving way.  She had a very welcoming spirit about her.  I will remember her in every future serving opportunity, to carry on what I learned.  “Well done thy good and faithful servant!”
