Irene Hoffmann, 72, of Atglen, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Ernst R. Hoffmann with whom she shared 28 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, she was the daughter of the late Geter Gouge and Helen Reynolds Gouge. 

Irene was an area resident all her life and a 1966 Graduate of the Octorara High School. 

Irene was employed as a diamond cutter with her husband's business, Ernst Hoffmann, Inc. of Atglen, PA.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two sons; Raymond Stackhouse and wife Amy of Parkesburg and Ron Stackhouse of Cochranville, three grandchildren and two brothers; Bob Gouge of Christiana, PA and Vernon Gouge of Florida. She was preceded in death by three siblings; Alfred Gouge, Ruth Ann Mendenhall and Janet Tennant. 

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Dear Ernst and family, even though only Ernst and Irene know me, my heart goes out to you all for the loss of a very special, kind and loving wife, mother grandmother. Irene is already missed buy us all but know there is grace beyond this life in heaven. My prayers are with your entire family as I know she was loved buy us all but will never be forgotten.

Although we did not see each other very often during the past 25 years, we always felt a deep connection to Reenie. We miss her very much, but she will be always in our hearts through all the good memories of the times we had together.

To all of Rene's family     I am sorry to hear this. She and I were friends in school and continued for years,Rene and I used to push Raymond and my daughter Shelly in strollers up 1st avenue together.I remember it like it was yesterday. She was always smiling and had such a happy air about her. She was definitely loved and will be missed. I pray our Lord surrounds you with His love, peace and strength.
