Elaine John D’Angelo, 71, of East Fallowfield, PA, went home to join her Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved late husband John X. D’Angelo in Glory on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.  Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late L. Kirk and Ethel Zell John.

Elaine graduated from Coatesville High School in 1967, earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester State College in 1971, and obtained her Master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University in 1979.  A devoted teacher and lifelong learner herself, Elaine began her career teaching underprivileged children in Appalachia, then taught preschool to special needs children in Virginia, and finally returned to Coatesville to finish her career teaching Kindergarten at Kings Highway Elementary School.  In retirement, Elaine continued sharing her gifts through volunteer service, to include teaching Vacation Bible School at her church, supporting the work of County Corrections Gospel Mission at the Camp at Old Mill, and teaching parenting classes to new and expectant mothers as a volunteer with Chester County Women’s Services.  She and her husband were members of Calvary Chapel in Chester Springs.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband John by just 10 days.  Elaine and John were high school sweethearts who reunited later in life and were blessed with 27 happy years of marriage together, serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and ministering to others through their kindness and generosity.  In addition to her passion for children, Elaine was skilled in numerous handcrafts, and she adored animals, particularly her horses and dogs.

Elaine is survived by a son, Matthew Fesak of Fuquay Varina, NC; a brother, Leedom “Lee” Kirk John, Jr., husband of Katherine “Kitty” March; and two dogs, Murphy and Marcy.

Joint services for Elaine and her husband, John, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 19 at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, located at 217 Dowlin Forge Rd, Exton, PA 19341. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10:30 AM until the start of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Chester County Women’s Services.

Our  heavys heart as we think of another life cut short by Covid 19.  Such fond memories of Elaine, a quiet and gentle spirit with wisdom, kindness, and encouragement to share.  We fondly remember our times serving our Lord and Savior at various churches in the community and will miss her bright smile, twinkling eyes, and her teacher's heart.   We know she rejoices in Glory as I write, sharing the wonders of "knowing by sight which she once knew only by faith" with her husband, John, while reuniting with the Saints that have gone before!  God is good.....all the time, even when we mourn.   Love to her family and friends.  Ron and Bernice Harding

We are saddened to hear of John and Elaine's passing. We were blessed to share many years with them at Brandywine Bible Church and my daughter Chaelee was blessed to have Elaine as her kindergarten teacher. We will be keeping Matt and both John and Elaine's families in our prayers.

We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Elaine and John. Elaine was a long-time neighbor and friend of mine (Don) and many fond memories of Elaine and her family flood my mind. Elaine was always that joyful, smiling, happy girl that remained with her into her adult years and to the end. We will remember her for her kindnesses to us but especially for her faithfulness to her Savior whom she served all through her life. We enjoyed getting to know John and when visiting from Iowa our friends (aka family!) on West Chester Road, our visit would not be complete without meeting up with Elaine and John. They were always a pleasant and fun couple to reunite with on those infrequent trips back east. They will be sorely missed. Our prayers continue for her family in their loss but we rejoice in knowing Elaine and John are in Heaven and rejoicing in being with their Savior and Lord.  Don and Eldonna Long
