William (Bill) Thomas Young, 78 of Murrells Inlet, passed away Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania on August 30th, 1942. He was the son of the late Morey S. and Helen Lilly Young.

He was a graduate of Octorara High School and attended St. Joes University. Early in his career, Bill worked for Lukens Steel in Coatesville and Motor Freight Express in York before shifting to appliance sales initially at Garver’s in York. Bill continued to sell major appliances as a top salesperson for several successful local businesses including Galen’s of Ephrata and Longenecker’s in Manheim. He started a business with his brother Morey and later owned his own business supply and printing company until he retired.

Bill, known to his loving family as Pop-Pop, enjoyed the simple pleasures, especially spending time with his loving wife and grandchildren. He also loved fishing, watching sports, and attending bluegrass concerts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sally D’Antonio and brother David Young.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Judy Ann Young; children William Scott Young and wife Wendy of Stevens, Pa, Stephen Scott Young and wife Michelle of Lititz, Pa., and Lori Young of Murrells Inlet; grandchildren Evan, Will, Nate, Nick and Sara; brother Morey S. Young and wife Kathy of Lancaster.

A celebration of life in his hometown of Parkesburg is being planned for June, details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Bill’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Morey & family .. I was so sad to read about Bill's passing; it's heartbreaking to lose a sibling.  Thinking of everyone at this time.
