67 Years
Parkesburg, Pennsylvania

Roseanna Terriman, 67, wife of Jack J. Terriman of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, February 12th, 2021 at her home, under the care of Penn Hospice.

Rose was the daughter of the late Garfield and Betty Beam McCoy. She was employed for 45 years by Lukens Steel, now ArcelorMittal USA, where she held the position of Technical Specialist.  However, she was most proud of her former role as Assistant to the President of Lukens Steel.

After serving on the West Sadsbury Township Planning Board for 10 years she joined the Zoning Board in 2005 and served until her illness in 2018. Rose was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Coatesville YWCA.  She was a member of the Lukens Veterans’ Guild and the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum. She also served in various capacities for the successful campaigns of Robert E. and Nancy A. Gill, Magisterial District Judges, in their 1995, 2001, 2006, 2013 and 2019 campaigns. The Gills were near and dear to her heart. She referred to Nancy as her sister.

Rose received the Weise Award for Community Service from Lukens. She also received two Technical Services Achievement Awards from ArcelorMittal, having been nominated by her former Manager, the late Alexander Wilson.

Rose practiced yoga at the direction of Pam Walsh for over a decade and enjoyed it very much.  She also enjoyed flower gardening and cooking but mostly enjoyed her home, family, friends, co-workers, community and pets.

She was extremely grateful for Dr. Reiss Binder’s clinical trial into BRCA related pancreatic cancer.  Rose felt this trial extended and surely improved the quality of her life.

Surviving is her devoted husband of more than 45 years, Jack.  She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen Turpin (Douglas) of Mountain Grove, MO; Karen Irwin (Tim) of Downingtown, PA; Darlene McCoy of Parkesburg and brother, Jeffery McCoy (Stephanie) of New Holland, PA.   She leaves behind a very special niece/God Daughter, Kimberly Nelson of Spring, TX and a nephew, Joshua Lizasuain of Gap, as well a God Daughter, Nicole Davis.  Also remaining is her beloved cat Luke, and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and extended family. They were all special in her heart. She was blessed to have many close friends who always provided love and support.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of the following: Penn Medicine Department, c/o Andrew Bellet, 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA  19104 (note on check: support of Dr. Reiss Binder’s research for BRCA related pancreatic cancer); The National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum, 50 South First Avenue, Coatesville, PA  19320; or the Parkesburg Point, 70 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA  19365.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to be part of the service on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:30 AM by connecting to the following Zoom link on https://zoom.us/j/92489334841

Dear Jack and family –
I want to express my deepest sympathy to you, Rose’s beloved family, pay tribute to her, and share a few memories that I have of Rose.  My deepest sympathy to you at this very sad time.  I agree with Diane and Diana (my former coworkers at Lukens Steel), that Rose was so very special to all of us.  I will say the company was a better place because of her.  I became her friend when I started working with her at Lukens Main Office.  I looked up to Rose; she was smart, kind, professional, successful, and always willing to help or answer a question.  Such a beautiful person.  I learned a lot from her - the importance of doing each task with excellence - whether it was something simple like running a job on the copy machine or more complex tasks like scheduling VIP meetings and crafting presentations.  I remember the time the video projector failed to work during an All-Employee Meeting.  It was Rose who jumped up to help me.  Or one morning when the office door opened, and Rose came in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me – just because she recognized that I was new and needed my spirits boosted (that image is still in my mind).  She helped me with advice when I had hip surgery scheduled just over 4 years ago.  I still have the card she mailed me wishing me a speedy recovery.  I’m actually having a hard time believing I’m still going out to work and Rose is not.  But then I remember she is at rest now.  Her work, and her suffering, is over.  From the Book of Wisdom (3-1):  “But the souls of the righteous are in the Hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them.  In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an affliction….but they are at peace.”  Rest in peace my dear friend.  Praying for comfort for your family and friends.   Mary Trego

Mr. Terriman I'm so very sorry. I work at the mill to. What a wonderful, sweet lady. She grew up next to my mom in Caln.  My mom was older & she would tell me my mom was the cutest little mother, very pretty. I will miss her telling me these story. I hope you can find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. She is now your guardian angel. God bless you & the rest of your family.

Jack and family,  So sorry to hear this.  I had the wonderful privilege of taking care of her father while in hospice, and after he passed, my mother passed away three months later, she came to my house to express her condolences.  She had a wonderful spirit.  We  would run into each other now and then and it always turned into a lengthy conversation about our families.  The last time I saw her she had shared her diagnosis with me.  I often thought of her and prayed for her.  She will be missed.  You're in my prayers.

Jackie, Luke, Karen, Darlene, Kathy, Jeff and families--

Sending our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Roseanna.  Beautiful (inside and out); Loving; Graceful; Dignified; Humble; Brave; Compassionate; Proud; Successful; Empathetic; Warrior; Selfless (never about her) are just a few words that come to mind to describe your beloved Rose.  During her illness, we communicated by text very frequently.  When I would ask how she was or how her doctor visit went, her reply was always, "we're good"  "we are blessed".  And she would folllow with, "how are your parents"?  She never allowed our chats to be about her. God bless her big heart.  Never did I hear her ask, "why me?"  That, my dear friends, was her faith speaking without saying a word. Our hearts are broken for all of you and we pray you will find peace from your wonderful memories and the love of your family and friends.  In closing, we love you, Roseanna. Lucky are those who had the privilege to know and love you.  May the choirs of angels come to greet you; May they speed you to Paradise; May the Lord enfold you in His mercy; May you find eternal life.  Until we meet again.

Mike and Marie
