Anya J. Schenk, 25, of Bensalem, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, of an overdose after a long battle with addiction. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of Christine Caripides of Bensalem, PA and Eric A. Schenk (Robin) of Atglen, PA.

Anya grew up in Cochranville, PA and was a 2012 graduate of the Octorara High School, Atglen, PA. Anya enjoyed all genres of music and was looking forward to seeing Alicia Keys in concert. Anya had a big heart, she loved her family; she was loved by so many friends. She will be missed every day.

Besides her parents, she also leaves behind two children; Jaxson T. Rhoads and Kaia C. Rhoads both of Bishopville, MD twin brother Adam Schenk of Woonsocket, RI, maternal grandmother Jacqueline Suny of Coatesville, paternal grandmother Phyllis Schenk of Parkesburg, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother Ethan Eric Schenk in 2017, her maternal grandfather Ted Caripides in 2007, and her paternal grandfather Richard Schenk in 2019.

Condolences

This is such sad,sad news. I met Anya and her twin Adam when they were about 7 and immediately fell in love with them. I remember sitting in her bedroom in Cochranville and having long chats about life when she was very young. She was filled with love, energy and possibilities. She had a good mind and was talented at whatever she tried.
I remember her saying that she wanted to be a "vegetarian" like her cousin Amy because she loved animals too! Although most vegetarians do love animals, she was talking about being a veterinarian...so sweet!  What I remember most about that interaction was her obvious sincerity, sweetness and determination.
Although in the end, drugs robbed her of more than she could bear, I choose to remember that very bright young girl who had nothing but hope and possibilities in her heart. I love you Anya. May you Rest In Peace.

Oh, Anya,

My great niece was indeed a great spirit.  Running around when she was a two year old waiting on her brothers-she loved them so much. As a teenager she came and helped at my daycare one summer. And she planted some of my garden for me-there are still some snapdragons with her mark!  As a young  mother, she was so determined to get an education that she got just a few credits shy of her Associates Degree online before her life started to go south.  She deserved everything. She loved her sweet children and was such a good mom.  I am so very sad for all that she might have had and become-she just was not able. I hope that she can rest in peace now, our girl was so tired of the struggle.  Eternal love and peace for you, Anya.

Nancy, this is Anya's mother. Can I have Carol's phone number? I wanted to call her and personally let her know about Anya. My kids loved her so much and she was so good to all of us.
thank you, Chris
