Condolences

Marie, Sandra, Kathy & Families,

Our hearts are saddened to hear of the passing of Dickie (loving called from our growing up years). He was the 'keeper' of the genealogy and history of our ancestry and local history. We deeply appreciated all he did for others, especially our mother, Marian Martin Stoner, as they collaborated on preserving this for generations to come.  Prayers of Peace and Love!

To Dick's family - I remember the day Dick was born (Pearl Harbor Day, 1941).  It was my first awareness of birth of a baby after watching his mother, Betty in her pregnancy  all summer.  We reconnected perhaps 7-10 years ago when he told me about the changes in the Steppe Rocks area (where we used to play)  My friends, cousins, brothers and I spent numerous hours in that area investigating foundations, terrain, etc.  His knowledge of the history of the Boyd's Corner area as well as the larger area was amazing, .I read of his death with sadness since I was ready for another hike with Dick as the leader when I visit PA from CT in August.  Even though I only saw him once a year, I will miss him.  I extend my sympathy to the family.

Such an unexpected death of a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dick was our neighbor for over 40 years. He loved sharing photos of his trips. And on several occasions, he came next door to show me the picture he snapped of the Woodland View turkey/turkeys. May the memories you have of that special guy comfort you in the days ahead. You are so loved and in many hearts at this most difficult time. Sandi

Dear Marie and Family,  I was stunned and saddened to hear that Dick had died. I got to know Dick while working as the accountant at CPC.  He was A wonderful help in the counting room and in so many other capacities.  I am so sorry that he is no longer here on earth but I'm sure heaven is so glad to have him.

On behalf of my sisters Nancy and Donna, and myself, I would like to extend our condilences to Marie and Dick's family. Dick was a very loving and caring person. He sang at our father's funeral in 2016 and again at our mother's funeral last October. Mother loved his voice and was comforted by it at dad's funeral. We are sure that Dick will be singing with God's choir very soon.

Dearest Aunt Marie, Kathy (family) and Sandy (family)

Words cannot express our sorrow for the loss of "Uncle Dick" and Great Uncle to our girls.  He was such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, Uncle and friend to all who knew him. We will always remember the countless Easters, Birthdays, Thanksgivings, Christmases, and numerous family gatherings that we spent together.  Those memories and moments we will cherish.I know that with the passing of my own dad, in time, instead of tears when you think of your loved one, there will be smiles.   He lived a blessed life, a well lived life, and in the end, that is all any of us can do.  Peace be with you all at this time.
