Daniel Boone Snyder, 81 of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Lee Snyder with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.  He is survived by his daughters Deborah Kern, wife of Randy and Jacqueline Rineer, partner of Jacquelyn Niemiec as well as his grandchildren Ryan and Angela Kern.  He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Barlow of Jennersville and Betty Jordan of West Grove.

Daniel was born in Trade, TN to Joseph and Lula Snyder and was the youngest (and only boy) of 8 children.  He had several jobs during his lifetime but spent the majority of his career in grounds maintenance for three well-known golf courses.  His last employer was Wyncote in Oxford from which he retired 16 years ago.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 1:00 at the Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square where he will be laid to rest near his mother and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, his daughters request that a contribution be made in his name to Hospice of Lancaster County.

With all the past experiences, memories, and emotions felt by not only him but every other life he touched, we can only wait, hope and pray that we'll see that loving and welcoming smile once more.  Sometimes people say life is unjust for taking the beauty it has created, but; it is quite the opposite.  The beauty of his life is only magnified to everyone around him and we all cannot wait to experience that beauty with him again someday.  Rest in peace and remember you are loved Daniel Snyder (Pop Pop),

Your loving grandson, Ryan Daniel Kern

I only got to meet pop toward the end of his life, but I feel honored to  have known him for the time I did. I will most remember his grin and the twinkle in his eye. He was a fun loving man with a big heart. Your family will be in my prayers as you go through this time of loss.

Em,

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts.  Pop really liked you and always looked forward to seeing you.  Please know we as a family appreciate all you did for pop and our Birthday celebebration was one of the best days to remember as he was so happy that day.  You're the best and know I love you.

I can't imagine what this pain must feel like. I'm so glad we were able to reconnect, and I had a chance to spend time with you all and Pop. That memory will always be near and dear to my heart.

My favorite memory of Pop is from the Easter of 2011. That was the "Easker" year. Bless goodness I will always love that day. Pop and I had gone outside and the talk we had was so great. We talked about everything under the sun. We talked about the south, we talked about our love of music, we especially talked a lot about Johnny Cash. We talked about some of the places he's been and things he's seen and done. I was so honored that he wanted to share some of his life with me. It was one of the most cherished conversations I've ever had with him.

I will forever and always remember that "Easker", and I will always hold my most recent visit close. I will always hold you all dear to me. I love you all.

Briana,

Thank you so much for all your sincere words that I know are from your heart.  Pop loved you very much and I know he appreciated the last visit you had with him.  As per the "Easker" now that was a fun holiday if I must say.  You and pop had a nice connection and him sharing those memories and thoughts with you warms my heart.  We love you with all our heart and know he is now watching over us and guiding us with his spirit.  You did a wonderful job at the Funeral service.  Thanks for pitching in and helping out.  You're always there when needed and that's what family is for.  God bless you.

Glenna,

Thank you for your kind words.  Dad was a wonderful man whom gave all he had.  He was a blessing to many.  A father, a father figurre, a provider, a friend , a son and and all around good hearted man.  He touched everyone's lives with nothing in return needed.  Debbie and I know that God put him into our lives for a reason and he lived up to every expectation that we could've ever imagined and for that we'll always be thankful for.  He was more than a father, he was a friend too.  We're definitely Daddy's girls and know how blessed we are!!.
